Mike Higgins
Mike
is a founding partner of Fusion Corporate Finance. He started his career with
John Mowlem plc where he was an engineer and site agent. Following a MBA at
Manchester Business School he moved into the venture capital industry where he
spent nearly ten years with 3i plc where he was an Investment Director.
Mike then moved from being an investor to an advisor when he became Head of
Corporate Finance at Ernst & Young in Leicester, growing the team to become the
largest corporate finance practice in the City.
Mike has completed over 100 deals as both an investor and an advisor and his
experience means that he is uniquely placed to advise on management buy-outs
and other venture capital transactions. He is a member of the Advisory
Committee to the East Midlands Regional Venture Capital Fund.
Stuart Hands
Stuart,
a founding partner of Fusion Corporate Finance, has in excess of 10 years
experience of corporate finance transactions.
Having qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Ernst & Young, Stuart joined the
Corporate Finance team where he worked on high profile transactions for a
number of listed and private companies, including extensive due diligence
assignments, enabling Stuart to develop his expertise in managing this phase of
the transactions he now leads. Stuart then spent five years specializing solely
in the lead advisory role of acquisitions, disposals, MBOs, MBIs and
refinancing working alongside many banks, lawyers, venture capitalists and
entrepreneurs.
Having completed transactions in all parts UK, as well as in Europe, Stuart’s
experience of having been involved in all aspects of Corporate Finance gives
him a unique perspective on lead advisory project management and deal
structuring.
Alan Cook - Associate
Alan
is an experienced executive with more than twenty years at board level in both
plc and privately owned businesses involving significant international
experience. He has dealt with suppliers and clients in Europe, USA and the Far
East and, as well as general business skills, he is experienced with
distribution, added value and assembly operations.
Alan is a Chartered Engineer and has wide experience of technology based
businesses. He also has particular skills in profit maximization, sales and
marketing.
John Finlan - Associate
John
has many years experience of international business as a multilingual general
manager and CEO of large and medium sized multi-national companies for groups
such as Corning Glass, Saint Gobain, Lafarge, Litton Industries, Thorn EMI,
Walter Runciman and GSA.
John lived and worked in France (7 years), Germany (5 years) and Belgium (4
years), is fluent in French and German and as CEO, has successfully acquired,
turned-round, profitably grown and disposed of a number of international
businesses in UK, France and Germany.
As well as working with Translink-Fusion John, has held and, continues to hold a
number of Non-Executive Chairman and Director positions on the boards of
Venture Capital investment companies for 3i plc, Aberdeen Private Equity, JP
Morgan and Bridgepoint Capital.
